Product introduction
The HENDL Paper & Plastic Roll Carrier is a family of material-handling equipment designed to transport, lift and stack paper, plastic film, textile and packaging rolls within industrial facilities. Manual, powered and forklift-mounted configurations are available for applications up to 1 metric tonne, with the design tailored to the load and production environment. Horizontal-axis and vertical-axis rolls are handled using different application-specific arrangements. Requirements above the published capacity and non-standard working dimensions can be assessed through custom engineering.
Standard Capacity And Dimensions
- Handling/lifting capacity
- up to 1 metric tonne.
- Materials
- paper, plastic film, textile and packaging rolls.
- Configurations
- manual, powered or forklift-mounted.
- Roll orientation
- horizontal or vertical axis, with dedicated arrangements for each.
- Support
- roller cradles and application-specific gripping heads.
- Functions
- transport, lifting, stacking or machine loading depending on the chosen model.
Roll dimensions and working envelope are project-specific.
Applications over 1 tonne are assessed through custom engineering.
Working Principle
Depending on the selected configuration, the roll is supported on a roller cradle or held by an application-specific gripping attachment. Manual carriers can be moved by an operator, while powered travel and lifting functions are provided on the applicable models. Forklift-mounted variants are engineered to interface with the forklift handling system. Dedicated designs can support transport, lifting, stacking and machine-loading operations. The support and gripping geometry is selected for rolls transported with a horizontal or vertical axis. The carrier is not presented as a roll upender that inherently changes the roll from horizontal to vertical orientation.
Selection
Selection data include roll material, maximum weight, outer diameter, width or wound length, core inside diameter, roll-axis orientation, surface sensitivity, winding and packaging characteristics, floor conditions, aisle width, required lifting height, machine-loading interface and operating frequency. Manual, powered and forklift-mounted variants are selected for different tasks. The published capacity of 1 tonne describes the product-family range; it does not mean that one carrier accommodates every roll size, lift height or operating function. All dimensional limits are defined for the specific project.
Transport, lifting and custom engineering options
Depending on the project, available solutions include adjustable roller or V-shaped cradles, polyurethane or rubber contact surfaces, hydraulic lifting, battery-powered electric lifting, precision alignment and lateral side-shift for machine shafts, narrow-aisle chassis designs, stacking and production-line feeding integration, and interchangeable mandrels for different core diameters. Suitable mobile variants may incorporate wheel parking brakes, mechanical roll stops and adjustable load retainers. Powered variants can be equipped with emergency-stop functions; appropriate lifting systems can use upper and lower travel limits and overload protection for powered lifting. Chassis geometry and load stability are evaluated for each application. These functions and options are not standard across every configuration.
Technical Figures For A Quote
For a quotation, provide the roll material, maximum weight, outside diameter, roll width or wound length, core inside diameter, horizontal/vertical orientation, current stacking height, required lift height, travel route, aisle width and floor conditions. Specify your preferred manual, powered or forklift-mounted configuration and any machine-loading, precision alignment, side-shift or surface-protection requirements. Roll photographs and layout drawings are useful for selecting the appropriate handling system.
Questions
What is the capacity of the roll carrier, and which materials can it handle?
The HENDL family covers applications up to 1 metric tonne for handling paper, plastic film, textile and packaging rolls. Manual, powered and forklift-mounted variants can be configured for transport, lifting or stacking. Higher-capacity applications are considered through custom engineering. The rated capacity and operating envelope of each unit are established for its particular design.
Can the same carrier handle rolls in both horizontal and vertical orientations?
Dedicated configurations can be designed for horizontal-axis and vertical-axis rolls. This does not imply that one unit handles both orientations or automatically turns a roll between them. The appropriate support and gripping arrangement is defined for the load and handling process.
Are battery lifting, hydraulic systems and forklift interfaces available?
Yes. Separate manual, powered and forklift-mounted configurations can be engineered. Suitable models may include hydraulic or battery-powered lifting, precision machine alignment, side-shift and protective contact surfaces. Availability depends on the selected configuration and project requirements.
